U19 Friendly: Our Spectacular Boys

Our 8 committed and eager boys were simply spectacular today. After 2 minutes of play they had hit a couple of posts, were up 2x0. They played a possession and passing game, and were called "Barcelona" by a member of the other team.

Goals:

  • Braiden 7
  • Hunter 3
  • Shar 2
  • Justin 1
Shar also played gk for 35 minutes, zero goals scored on him. Many thanks to Braiden, Artur, Gabriel, Hunter for also going into net as well, all playing really well.

Some happy boys!

October 6 - Thanksgivings Edition

It is a long weekend; we were expecting 14 players to show up today, 22 came! It turned out to be another beautiful day. Thank you!

Beautiful fall colors:

An illustrious player showed up too!

The Nepean H.S. Track and Field coach!
The penalty shootout, after a 5-5 regulation time tie:

Perfect gk body position, body behind the ball, no way for the ball to go through.

September 29 2012

A very good practice today welcoming two new players. The fun game was great too, with 18 players in the end, playing full field.

Chest control:

Can you see what Shar does differently? Look at the shape of his chest. He is clearly showing and using soft body tissue to control and cushion the ball..

1 on 1 breakaway against the gk: there are three types of alternatives:

1. keeper stays back in his net
2. keeper goes in the middle to no man's land
3. keeper charges (like a mad man?)

What do you do for each situation? In a match you have 1 second to decide.

Great gk stance:

What's the goal keeper doing?
