This is the very end of the South American semi-finals match last night, as recorded by a fan on the upper stands. This is how it is to be at a stadium in Brazil, non-stop party, 100% energy, always.
Sao Paulo advances to the finals of the South America Cup.
Note in the video the player in red? He is the goal keeper for the U. Catolica. Catolica needed to score a goal to advance, so the goalkeeper went up to attack in the last couple of minutes.
This is Morumbi stadium in Sao Paulo, where I have been to watch many soccer matches, some with over 120,000 people there.
Watch the emotions and sportsmanship, in spite of the ferocious battle on the field. Players exchanging jerseys, including the two keepers, Ceni a living legend, Toselli, a new star.

Quarterback Ricky Ray says that the Toronto Argonauts had a special bond. They might not have been the biggest, fastest or most heralded. But they had each other's back.
GM Jim Barker and rookie head coach Scott Milanovich chose the right pieces in assembling what was to become a Grey Cup
champion squad.
"Scott and the staff and Jim coming out of
training camp didn't necessarily pick the best, most-talented guys," "They picked guys that were going to be
good teammates over some of those guys. "That's where it's got to
start with. It's got to start with the locker-room and how everybody
gets along and everybody playing for each other out there. I think
that's been the biggest difference for us."
Barker says he and Milanovich both believe "it's not necessarily the 46 best players but it's the best 46 players."
"That
means the 46 that can work together the best," the GM said in an
interview Monday.
"Find strength in your teammates when things gets tough," he said.
An
even-keeled coach who prepares meticulously, Milanovich laid out what
was expected. Argos players knew they didn't have to worry about the
changing moods of their head coach or jump through hoops, just execute
what they were told.
This means always giving 100%, working hard, focusing, being fit, never complaining about a teammate's bad play, respecting everyone, etc.

These Toronto Argonauts had a special bond.
They might not have been the biggest, fastest or most heralded. But they had each other's back.
Ray,
who came over from the Edmonton Eskimos in a blockbuster off-season
trade, credits GM Jim Barker and rookie head coach Scott Milanovich for
choosing the right pieces in assembling what was to become a Grey Cup
champion squad.
"Scott and the staff and Jim coming out of
training camp didn't necessarily pick the best, most-talented guys,"
said the veteran quarterback. "They picked guys that were going to be
good teammates over some of those guys.
"That's where it's got to
start with. It's got to start with the locker-room and how everybody
gets along and everybody playing for each other out there. I think

Barker says he and Milanovich both believe "it's not necessarily the 46 best players but it's the best 46 players."
"That
means the 46 that can work together the best," the GM said in an
interview Monday. "Through the year, we went through players and we did
make different moves but it was about finding the right blend of players
- of veterans and rookies."
Milanovich referred to that brotherhood in his pre-game speech Sunday.
"Find strength in your teammates when things gets tough," he said.
An
even-keeled coach who prepares meticulously, Milanovich laid out what
was expected. Argos players knew they didn't have to worry about the
changing moods of their head coach or jump through hoops, just execute

In the morning before the game, the field almost got white. We have yet to play on a white field :-(
The secret for not feeling cold: just keep moving (running, jogging, anything). In 5 minutes you'll be warm. Appropriate layering of clothing also helps. I wear a MEC T3 hoody, and I am yet to feel any cold with it (just a thin shell on top to cut the wind). My hands were a bit cold at the beginning (but I have Reynaud's syndrome), problem solved in 5 minutes with a pair of wool mitts lent by Sarah.
The problem is that some players are very out of shape and just can't run all the time. This is the best time of the year to go running!
Practice (7 players initially, then 8)
Game (17 players today):
One great goalkeeper, terrific defender, and always positive and cheerful:
The brave 11 (Shar and Lavender just outside the photo), crazy for soccer, who played until dark:

Rogerio Ceni scored his 108th goal as goal keeper today. In a match that featured Ganso playing his 1st match for Sao Paulo, with 62,000+ spectators in the stadium. There was a lot of stake in this match.
Ceni's world record keeps going up.

Our 8 committed and eager boys were simply spectacular today. After 2 minutes of play they had hit a couple of posts, were up 2x0. They played a possession and passing game, and were called "Barcelona" by a member of the other team.
Goals:
- Braiden 7
- Hunter 3
- Shar 2
- Justin 1
Shar also played gk for 35 minutes, zero goals scored on him. Many thanks to Braiden, Artur, Gabriel, Hunter for also going into net as well, all playing really well.
Some happy boys!

Nice soccer practice today:
Actually, tennis is great for cross-training. While a very technical sport with counter-intuitive movements, the physics are the same. Intelligent players will understand the similarities with a soccer ball movement (spin). For example, in tennis, the racket face should point to the ground when hitting most shots, while blasting a ball, without corresponding top spin, is a very bad thing. However, putting a ball over the net and making it land in the correct spot is similar to putting ball over a wall in soccer.
There was actually soccer too, 19 players came today. Final score was 9x8.
Coach ran 4.85Km in the soccer match today:
